Welcome to the Biological and Environmental Engineering Department's Research Information pages. As you browse through our Research section, it is important to understand that our three main program areas, Biological Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and Food and Fiber Engineering, are not completely separate entities. They overlap greatly in their general focus, the faculty interests, graduate student interests, and current and proposed research projects.

Under the umbrella of the three main department program areas, BEE research revolves around ten specialization areas:

  • Biological Engineering
    • Biological Engineering
    • Machine Systems
    • Structures and Environment
  • Environmental Engineering
    • Environmental Engineering
    • Environmental Management
    • Soil and Water Engineering
    • Local Roads Engineering
    • Machine Systems
    • Structures and Environment
  • Food and Fiber Production
    • Energy
    • Food Processing Engineering
    • International Agriculture
    • Machine Systems
    • Structures and Environment

Please browse these pages to get a feel of what BEE research is all about. In addition don't hesitate to call, write, or e-mail any of the faculty members listed in these pages. You can also contact our Department Chairman, Mike Walter; our Director of Graduate Studies, Dan Aneshansley; our Undergraduate Programs Director, Jim Bartsch; or our Student Services Coordinator, Brenda Marchewka for further information.
