Teaching .............

Overview of Experiences

Teaching is central to my professional identity and I strive for excellence in this arena. The primary goals in my introductory courses are to stimulate interest and to provide hands-on experiences. Most of my courses are accompanied by a laboratory to provide in-the-field experience. I typically avoid back-of-the-chapter type questions in favor of more complicated, realistic synthesis activities, often involving data collection through appropriate write-up. I encourage students to think creatively and use technology appropriately.
